How My Story began and why i fell in love with motherhood and family photography

When I think back to where this all started, I have to laugh a little. I didn’t pick up a camera because I had dreams of becoming a full-time photographer. I joined my high school yearbook staff because my best friend was doing it — and let’s be honest, it sounded like a fun excuse to leave campus for “photo assignments” (ooo, rebels, I know).

But what I didn’t expect was how quickly I’d fall in love with photography.

Even back then, I was drawn to the little moments. Not the big staged shots — but the in-between stuff. The laughs between friends, the quick glances in the hallway, the kind of images that felt real. I didn’t fully realize it at the time, but I was already chasing stories.

For years, photography stayed in the background. A creative outlet I’d come back to, here and there. I never really thought it would become more than that… until I became a mom.

When Everything Shifted

After my daughter was born, everything felt different. The everyday chaos. The slow moments. The way she fit perfectly into my arms.

It hit me that these were the moments I’d want to remember. Not just the milestones — but the ordinary, quiet, messy, beautiful in-betweens.

I started reaching for my camera more often. I didn’t just want to document these memories — I wanted to hold onto how they felt. And that’s when it really clicked (pun totally intended). I wasn’t just doing this for myself anymore. I wanted to help other families feel that too.

Why I Chose Motherhood and Family Photography

There’s something different about documenting motherhood. It’s raw and soft and real. It’s full of love that doesn’t always look perfect on the outside, but always means everything.

I fell in love with the kind of sessions that are focused on storytelling — the kind that aren’t just about smiling at the camera, but about capturing connection.

Now, as a motherhood and family photographer in Utah, that’s exactly what I do. Whether we’re out in the mountains at golden hour or snuggled up on your living room floor, I want your session to reflect what your life actually feels like.

The laughter. The chaos. The tiny fingers tangled in your hair. The look your partner gives you when you’re not even paying attention. The real stuff.

Looking Back Now

If you told high school me that the girl holding a camera for yearbook would grow up to run a photography business and photograph families full-time — I probably would’ve laughed and asked if I still got to wear leggings every day. (Spoiler: I do.)

But I’m so glad I found my way here.

I get to create something that matters — not because it’s perfectly posed or filtered, but because it’s honest. That’s what I want for every session. For every gallery. For every family that steps in front of my lens.

I remember being so proud of these...haha!

Let's Tell Your Story

If you’re looking for a Utah motherhood photographer or want a family session that’s storytelling-focused and true to who you are, I’d love to help capture it.

Let’s create something meaningful. Something real. Something that feels like you — because those are the moments you’ll want to remember most.
